Golden Globe Awards Will Happen on January 10 – Here’s Where to Stream It

This 2023, Golden Globe Awards is back on television for the first time since 2023. The TV and movies awards show, which is run by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), did not air on TV last year due to criticism from prominent figures in the entertainment industry.

Personalities criticized HFPA for the lack of diversity within its organization. Now that HFPA reformed its policies and membership requirements, the Golden Globe Awards will return to television. This time, it will air on a weekday instead of the usual Sunday night time slot.

Where Can You Stream the Golden Globe Awards?

Golden Globe Awards is back in business after HFPA's restructuring. The organization handling the event added more journalists of color to ensure that there is diversity.

Finally, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, the much-awaited event will take place. The good news is you can watch it on your television units at home or you can stream it.

This year's Golden Globe Awards will take place at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT.) It will be held in The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. 

According to CNET, you can enjoy watching the red carpet because E! will be covering it starting at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. PT).

Starting at 8 p. m. ET, the 80th Golden Globe Awards will air on NBC. You can also watch the ceremony on the NBC App and NBC.com from your smartphone, tablet, computer, and connected TV. 

But to watch the live broadcast, you have to log in with your cable provider, according to Digital Trends.

You also have the option to stream it live on Peacock, NBC's streaming service. It is available free with ads. You can also choose to have the premium tier for $5 a month/$50 a year.

Which Film Leads the Nomination?

This year Golden Globe Awards marks the 80th ceremony, and as CNET notes, the stars will be out in full force. 

The best shows in film and television in 2022 will be honored during the Golden Globe Awards. In addition, Eddie Murphy will be the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award. Meanwhile, Ryan Murphy will be the recipient of the Carol Burnett Award.

Comedian and Emmy winner Jerrod Carmichael will be hosting this year's ceremony. There's also a star-studded lineup of presenters, including Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Billy Porter, Quentin Tarantino, Natasha Lyonne, and more.

Leading the film nominations with eight nods is "The Banshees of Inisherin." It was closely followed by "Everything Everywhere All at Once" with six nominations. 

When it comes to TV shows, "Abbott Elementary" garnered five nominations, which include best series, musical, or comedy. 

Meanwhile, "The Crown," "Only Murders in the Building," "Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story," "Pam & Tommy" and "White Lotus" all tied with four nominations.

According to HFPA President Helen Hoehne, they are thrilled at the return of the Golden Globe Awards on NBC.

She added that the organization remains committed to important changes. Likewise, they are supporting programs that prioritize diversity, inclusion, and transparency.
