8 Underrated iPhone Features You Might’ve Missed

We understand if you don't know every single feature an iPhone can provide. Apple releases so many new ones every once in a while that a lot of people can miss some of them. Sometimes, they don't even announce some features at all. So, here are some you might've missed.

1. Top Bar Shortcut

Have you ever tried scrolling through your feed for a while that it will take a lot of work to get back to the very top? Well, it won't take the same amount of effort to go back. Just tap the top bar of your phone and it will return back up by itself. Pretty convenient, huh?

2. Drag and Drop, App to App

There are times when you have to copy a text from one app and paste it on another. It's a tedious task, honestly, and it takes up more time than you would on a computer. In the new iOS 15 update, you can now just drag and drop not just texts, but images, documents, and links too.

All you have to do is tap and hold whatever you want to drag as you would with an app on your home screen, and then use your other hand to navigate to the app you want to drop it on. Once you're on the other app, just let go of the thing you copied.

3. From Paper to Phone

iPhones have a Live text feature that is not being used as much as it should. It can recognize texts from photos and videos, as mentioned in Medium, wherein you can copy it or perform other functional actions.

For instance, you can take a photo of a business card and Live text will allow you to scan and call the number on the card. You can even use it on Apple Notes by scanning a physical text using the camera icon and turning it into an editable text directly on the app.

4. Identifying Music Easily

Whether you're watching a movie or shopping in a mall, there are times when you hear a song and like it, but can't figure out its title. Shazam is an app that can listen to a song for a few short seconds and guess what it is.

You can access that easily by adding the Shazam icon on your device's control center. With that, you can record a song and learn its title by simply dragging the top tab down and tapping on the Shazam icon. Just go to Settings and tap on the + sign beside Music recognition.

5. New Phone, Same Needs

It's a hassle for some to buy a new phone because you have to set it up again, along it with the apps and data that you've accumulated over the years. You'll have to download or transfer them sometimes even one by one.

The beauty of the iPhone is that you can copy everything from your old phone and just put them on the new one with the Apple ID. That includes apps, files, widgets, saved settings, and more. You may have a new device, but you'll still have the system you're used to.

6. You Won't Have Bloatware

Since Apple created its own software, you won't be bombarded with a lot of unnecessary apps that come with outside software. This way, your device is less likely to lag since it won't have many apps running in the background, as pointed out by Life Hacker.

7. SMS Codes are Easily Used

A lot of log-in or purchasing processes require codes now to avoid fraudulent activities. Some codes are way too long to remember so you'll have to look again or write it down. With Apple, the code is at the bottom of the screen and you can just tap it to use AutoFill.

8. iPhones Hold Their Value

This isn't an iOS feature, but it's also a good one. iPhones are known to be bank-draining because of their prices. But, if you take care of your phone, you can sell it for almost the original price since it holds its value well.

You can also just trade it in for the newest model at Apple retail stores or online. Apple will give you credit for your old device and you can just add to it to get a new one. Better than discarding your old phone and paying full price for another one.
