5 Websites That Help You Build Your Resume and Get That Dream Job

The new year is here, and if one of your resolutions for 2023 is to get your dream job, to work for another company, or get your first job, then you'll need a resume or a cover letter to help you get through the first application stage.

However, employers are not only looking for qualifications. They are also looking for resumes that stand out and help them decide which applicants are going to the next stage.

To make your resume stand out and be more likely to get that job, here are some online resume builders you may want to give a try:

Zety Resume Builder

Zety is arguably one of the best resume builders currently on the internet. Its state-of-the-art templates let you start from scratch and input your information quickly.

It even has tools that provide tips and prompts to guide you in creating the content you need for your resume, along with a variety of customization options to make your resume stand out due to its uniqueness.

These features make Zety a must-try for fresh graduates and those looking to impress potential employers to get their dream job.

However, downloading the resume you made with Zety for free can be troublesome. The resume builder lets you download a .txt file of the resume you made for free. If you want to download it in a different format, you'll have to fork over $2.70.

Resume Genius

Resume Genius features something that many of its kind don't have: AI software that automatically fills out your bullet points in your experience section, so you don't have to, per its official website.

The 15 modern resume templates it offers are certified Applicant Tracking System (ATS) friendly, meaning that employers can quickly determine if you are qualified for the job you're applying for quickly.

However, to download the resume you made, you either need to pay a one-time fee of $2.95 or a monthly payment of $7.95 for unlimited resumes and cover letters.

Wepik

If you're looking for a user-friendly resume builder that comes with the most professional and attractive branding documents, then Wepik is the resume builder you'll want to try out.

It is a great tool for small businesses and individuals looking to make professional-looking resumes and cover letters with a variety of ready-made templates that come in different formats.

However, Wepik has a few customization options for its templates, and you either have to start from scratch or choose a template to build your resume.

Canva

Canva is one of the most user-friendly resume builders on the internet. You start with a blank designer template you'll need to fill out yourself. However, filling in the necessary information can be as easy as copypasting them from a separate source, making it easy for you to add the information you need.

Canva's various resumes are separated by category, allowing you to find a suitable template based on what field you're working in. You can also customize and edit these templates to your liking, adding sections and even a picture of yourself if you so wish.

However, Canva's templates aren't the most friendly when it comes to ATS, and it isn't possible to upload an existing resume to make updates.

Although Canva's free version comes with all the basic tools you need to make a decent resume, accessing more advanced tools requires you to pay a yearly fee of $199.99.

LiveCareer

Last but not least is LiveCareer, a resume builder that won Sitejabber's 2021 Customer Choice Award. What's unique about this resume builder is that it allows you to create tailor-made resumes for the jobs you found on popular job search websites.

To utilize this, just copy and paste the job description and LiveCareer's tool will show you your match score to better gauge how likely you'll get the job based on what you added in your resume.

Although it is similar to Canva in that it groups resumes templates into categories, it only has more than 25 templates to choose from.

Unfortunately, LiveCareer's templates aren't robust enough to handle template changes, as using a different template affects your prvious choices.
