Spotify Founder Daniel Ek Ventures Into Healthcare With AI-Powered Body Health Scanner

Daniel Ek is attempting to create waves in the field of healthcare technology after completely changing the music industry.

In a LinkedIn profile, Ek is identified as the co-founder of the company Neko Health, which specializes in offering body scans assisted by artificial intelligence.

The AI Technology Specializes In Non-Invasive Scans

Hjalmar Nilsonne and Ek started the company with the intention of developing a healthcare system that can assist individuals in maintaining their health through early identification and preventative measures.

With the aid of AI, the brand-new healthcare startup Neko Health says it can accurately scan a person's body and deliver results in a matter of minutes, The Verge reports.

Neko Health claimed they had spent four years conducting extensive study and product development with the goal of keeping people healthy through early identification and preventative actions.

A non-invasive 360-degree full-body scanner that can detect and gauge the progression of birthmarks, rashes, and age spots is what the company is reportedly offering, according to its website.

It also makes use of a different scanner to detect any irregularities in the body's pulse, blood pressure, or heart rate, according to Techdator

The company's scanner is a cylindrical body scanner with more than 70 sensors that can quickly identify birthmarks, pulse, blood pressure, and other things.

A "self-learning AI-powered system" analyzes the data it collects and explains the findings to doctors and patients.

Results are sent to clients at their appointments, and they can even watch and follow them on an accompanying app.

"Early detection and prevention of serious illness would mean that we can avoid both the human suffering and the high social costs that serious illness entails," Nilsonne notes.

Ek's Foray Into Healthcare Has Been Rumored For A Long Time

Since November, there have been rumors regarding the firm, and Ek has long made references to entering the healthcare industry.

In fact, it was reported in 2013 that Ek spends his free time pondering ways to improve the healthcare system, The Verge writes.

Neko Health looks interesting, but it is certainly too early to say what kind of impact it might have on the healthcare sector.

Similar technology has previously emerged, with researchers developing AI technology that can scan your retina and forecast your risk of heart disease.

It is also important to note that the project also has Facebook and New York University collaborating to speed up MRI scans using it.

The potential of this technology is intriguing, and Neko Health uses it on a larger and more accessible scale.

The startup claims that its first health center in Stockholm, Sweden, would offer the Neko Body Scan and a full analysis of one's health to people with skin and heart conditions.

According to Zee Business, HJN Sverige, now known as Neko Health, was formed by Ek and Nilsonne in 2018.

Since then, the company has raised more than $31 million in funding, mostly from Ek and his moonshot investment firm Prima Materia.
