Microsoft is Introducing Copilot, an AI-Powered Assistant for Dynamics 365

It's no surprise that Microsoft is trying to add artificial intelligence elements into its products, especially since it extended its partnership with OpenAI. One of their latest AI projects is Copilot, an assistant that will help sellers with their business.

Microsoft Copilot

The new AI-powered Copilot feature is Microsoft's addition to Dynamics 365. It provides interactive assistance for business functions such as sales, service, marketing, supply chain, and more. It is natively built-in to both CRM and ERP applications.

The intention of the new feature is to work with business professionals and help them create ideas and content quicker, making for a more productive day. It'll help ease the user with time-consuming tasks as well as be assisted with what they should do next.

The feature can already be previewed in Dynamics 365 Sales and Microsoft Viva Sales. The latter can guide the seller's actions and decisions with AI-powered insights and actions with its integration with both Microsoft Outlook and Teams.

Customer Interaction

Copilot is also capable of generating replies for their customers. The feature, which was released last month, will create a response to an inquiry or request along with data that the recipient might need like pricing and deadlines, all guided by options that the seller chooses.

The update will allow the AI-powered automated replies to be available generally by March 15th, along with the addition of customizable emails. Based on the seller's Outlook calendar, they can write an email with the proposal for a meeting time with clients, as well as a meeting date.

The seller will be able to tailor the way the AI works by rating its responses with a thumbs up or thumbs down, and the AI will learn from it. They can also provide new prompts for an updated response so the AI can improve its replies from there on out.

Insights and Marketing

Instead of spending weeks analyzing data, Copilot can provide the sellers with data with simple prompts. All they have to do is ask questions using natural language and the AI will analyze it and explore the results.

Data analysts would have to write queries in SQL to view insights from customer data. Copilot in Dynamics 365 can generate data for specific customers much faster. A marketer can filter out customers with details like addresses, high customer lifetime value, purchases, and more.

The AI assistant can produce data results that provide information like customers' average age,  product preferences, or average purchase price, which can then be studied to create a more effective sales campaign.

Copilot is able to suggest content ideas to avoid repetitiveness, and engage customer faster. Marketers can provide certain topics and it will be turned into suggested copy to help them move on to the next project.

Sellers with small to medium-sized can also use Copilot to help them generate product descriptions using AI. This will allow them to bring their products to the market much faster, as well as lessen their workload.
