Digital Assistant like ChatGPT

Gm is already working on the digital assistant that will come with its cars soon. The AI-powered assistant will be based on similar machine-learning models used by ChatGPT. It will assist drivers with questions they have about the vehicle they are driving.

This will eliminate the need for looking at the car's physical manual, or having to search for certain information online yourself. You can ask the digital assistant for instructions when ut comes to things like changing a flat tire.

As mentioned in Engadget, GM Vice President Scott Miller said that ChatGPT is going to be in everything. Although the AI assistant is still in development, it could also offer assistance with other devices that connect to the vehicle.

A GM Spokesperson said that the new tech is not just about a single capability like the evolution of voice commands, but it can also mean that the vehicles can be more capable and "fresh" overall as new technologies emerge.

Since OpenAI only has Microsoft as its cloud provider, the GM digital assistant might run on a Microsoft software like Azure. Reports say that the car company could also work on a "car-specific layer" as part of the already existing language model that powers ChatGPT.

An AI assistant could also lead to many revolutionary features that could shape the future of car technologies. It may even be integrated with car functions like autonomous driving, wherein a driver can just instruct the AI to drive to certain locations or use a specific route.

The Potential Uses of OpenAI's Technology

OpenAI is already expanding its horizons when it comes to the use of its technologies. AI-driven assistants can make the lives of their users significantly easier as they do all the heavy lifting when it comes to research and fulfilling commands.

For instance, Spotify is already using OpenAI for its "AI-driven DJ" feature which was released in late February 2023. The AI DJ will base its recommendations on your music taste and listening history, as well as explain why the songs were recommended to you.

Several sectors are already working with OpenAI such as technology, education, business services, manufacturing, and finance. As of January 2023, a total of 902 companies or organizations are already working with the AI company.

According to WeForum, 251 companies in the technology sector are working with OpenAI, with a close 209 for the education sector. There are 98 in business service, 89 in manufacturing, 44 in finance, 35 in retail, 24 in healthcare, and 18 in government.

AI technology can help in various ways. For example, an AI can create lesson plans for specific levels in the education sector. It can streamline operations in business services or research possible treatment plans in a matter of minutes for healthcare.
