Movie Not Yet Available in Your Country

Netflix regularly adds new titles, so make sure that the title you are looking for is arriving in your country. You may be looking for a series or movie that is only released in countries excluding yours.

Also take note that new TV shows and movies are usually released globally at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time. It can happen that the title does not appear in the search results yet because you are hours or minutes early in searching.

Movie Rights Issue or Title Not Available for Your Region

Netflix makes certain titles available based on regional popularity. Some TV shows and movies are likey to be watched by more people in certain regions, but not in other locations. For example, while the United States and the United Kingdom are English-speaking countries, there are titles that are available for Netflix members in one of these countries because they are popular there.

It is also possible Netflix does not have the rights for titles in certain regions. This happens when another distributor or streaming platform currently owns the rights for a movie or TV series, although Netflix may have the rights for those titles in other regions.

Only TV Series and Movies Available Globally Appear Due to VPN

A person can use virtual private networks or VPNs to make appear like your device or network is accessing Netflix from another location instead of your present one. It should be noted, however, that VPNs will not work if you want to watch a live event on Netflix.

You are also not allowed to use your ad-supported profile on Netflix while you are using VPN. Therefore, only those titles which Netflix has the rights to release globally can also be viewed by users connecting via VPN. Some of the popular global titles from Netflix are Squid Game and Stranger Things.

If you want to watch a title that is shown exclusively in your country or region, you should turn off your VPN and refresh Netflix.

Title Has Higher Maturity Rating Requirement or Blocked for a Profile

A user may opt to assign a maturity rating for each profile in their account. Therefore, only titles applicable to the assigned maturity rating can be viewed using a profile. It is also possible to block specific movies and TV series for one profile.

To change the maturity rating or remove blocked titles for a profile, go to your Account page using a web browser, then open the Profile and Parental Control setting to make your desired changes for a profile. Lastly, go to Viewing Restrictions to change the setting.

Title Not Available in Your Profile Language

You can only see titles with audio or subtitles available in the language that was set for the profile you are using. If your profile language is set in English but the available language for a TV show or movie you are looking for is non-English, then Netflix won't show it to you in your search.

If you want to show all available titles in your current region, regardless of the available language, you can change your profile language in Manage Profiles.
