A League of Legends (LOL) spinoff is now open for pre-orders.
Riot Forge and Double Stallion Games recently announced that the LOL spinoff game they both developed, CONVERGENCE: A League of Legends Story, is now ready for pre-orders - a signal that the game is in the last leg of its development.
Riot Forge is a publishing label within Riot Games - LOL's developer - that complements Riot's research and development program, per its About Us page. Its focus is to work with other studios outside of Riot Games to create "bespoke 'completable' LOL games."

CONVERGENCE: A League of Legends Story is a 2D action platformer game developed by Double Stallion Games and published by Riot Forge that tells the story of Ekko, a young inventor that could manipulate time with the device he invented, per Double Stallion's official website.
LOL players may be aware of Ekko by this time - he is one of the champions added to the game in late May 2015 during its 5.1 version update, per Riot Games. Ekko, an assassin-type hero, uses his time manipulation skills to damage and eliminate enemy champions.
However, Ekko is far from killing enemy champions in his game. True to the game's description, players, through Ekko, will explore and traverse through the city of Zaun to discover different environments with the champion's parkour-style traversal while leveling up combat and time abilities to defeat various enemies in the city.

Unfortunately, Ekko would soon learn in the game that manipulating time can come with many consequences - consequences that he may have to live with if he's not careful. Along the way, he'll have to contend with the likes of fellow champions Camille, Warwick, and Jinx in a series of battles.
Apart from the parkour-like traversal and fellow champions, CONVERGENCE also features an art style that focuses on tight dynamic combat and "unique exploration opportunities" that Ekko's time manipulation device can afford.

CONVERGENCE: A League of Legends Story will be available on May 23, for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and 5, and the PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
Gamers insterested in playing the game could pre-order the game from these platforms for $29.99, which includes a Golden Ekko pre-order bonus.
The game also has a Digital Deluxe Edition that gamers could pre-order for $39.99. It includes a Digital Comic and Art Book, Ruined Ekko Skin, and Star Guardian Ekko Skin, along with the base game and the Golden Ekko pre-order bonus.
A physical Collector's Edition of the game is available for those who want to collect physical memorabilia for $169.99. It comes with a 10-inch Ekko Figurine, a 104-page Art Book, 5-piece Pin Set, and a comic book - all packaged within a special collector's edition box.
