Riot Games has many games under its belt, but one of its most famous aside from Valorant is League of Legends (LoL). The developer is also known for its ability to create deep-rooted stories or lores for its characters that intersect with one another, so here are some of the most interesting champion lores in LoL.
1. Fiddlesticks
Similar to the image of a scarecrow with the head of a jack-o-lantern, Fiddlesticks is obviously designed to be a creature of horror. If you've ever played or encountered him in the game, you'd also be convinced that he's the stuff of nightmares based on his voice alone.
The demon has been heard of in all corners of Runeterra such as Demacia, Bilgewater, Noxus, and more. It's either he's so terrifying that his story has been heard by all of Runeterra, or he is everywhere, and both are frankly chilling. The element of mystery just adds to his story.
2. Diana
Diana is an orphan who was found by Solari hunters beside her parents that died due to the cold, but she survived despite it. She was adopted by the Solari tribe and upon growing up, became interested in the moon.
She took herself to the peak of Mount Targon, and as told by GameRant, was greeted by the "brightest moon she had ever seen." The moon bestowed upon her a bladed weapon, armor, and silver hair. As far as origin stories go, it can definitely be made into a movie.
3. Viktor
In the game, Viktor was vilified due to his vision of turning all of humankind into the way he is, a mechanized human augmented by "steel and science." He dangerously and strongly believes that technology merging with organisms is the best way to advance.
However, his story has become more interesting after seeing the events that led to it in the show adaptation "Arcane." He was ill and only meant to cure himself, not become what he is in the game. A tragic backstory to a villain is always an interesting story.
4. Lux
Lux, which is short for Luxanna, is part of a family that is considered prestigious in Demacia. She is the sister of another champion in League of Legends, Garen. Her home region despised magic, considering that it almost brought about the end of everything in Runeterra lore.
Things somehow became complicated when Lux discovered that she had magical powers, earning the title "The Lady of Luminosity." With the stories saying that magic turned hearts evil, she feared two things, being exiled from Demacia or being corrupted by her power.
5. Renekton
Renekton, as listed by League Feed, has a brother who is also one of the champions in the game. However, his brother Nasus didn't like Renekton's temper which got him into fights, since it might one say severely injure him or even kill him. Nasus got his brother to enlist in the Collegium of the Sun.
This tempered Renekton's rage and he became a feared warrior. Over time, Nasus has fallen ill. Not wanting him to die, he brought Nasus before the Sun Disc for Ascension. Being too weak, his brother could not climb, and so he carried him to the dais knowing that it will kill him.
After propping up his brother, he was supposed to discover that he was not killed. Instead, both he and his brothers ascended and became godlike-warrior. He had the image of a crocodile while his brother had that of a jackal.
