Nokia to launch 8-inch Lumia 2020 tablet and flagship Lumia 1820 smartphone at MWC 2014

A new report claims that Nokia will announce two highly-anticipated devices at Mobile World Congress in February: an 8-inch Lumia 2020 and a camera-centric Lumia 1820.

Nokia has become the poster child for Microsoft's Windows Phone platform and it appears that the company is trying to work some of that magic in the tablet world. Nokia recently announced that it would be bringing two important devices to the market in the coming weeks. The 6-inch Lumia 1520 is the first Windows Phone-based phablet and will be an exclusive to AT&T. The second device is the 10.1-inch Lumia 2520, which will run Windows RT 8.1 just like the Surface 2, and will be offered by both Verizon and AT&T in the coming weeks.

The Lumia 2520 won't be the only tablet coming out of Nokia, however. According to a new report, Nokia will announce an 8-inch tablet, which will have a 1080p display and a higher pixel density than the Lumia 2520. It will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and will include stylus support. The source claims that Nokia will announce the device as part of its Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 lineup.

The source also claims that Nokia will introduce a new flagship WP8 smartphone that will be called the Lumia 1820. The handset will reportedly ditch Nokia's usual polycarbonate casing for a more premium metal unibody shell. The Lumia 1820 is said to be Nokia's next imaging flagship smartphone. The device will use a Lytro-style camera in place of the 41-megapixel PureView camera found on the Lumia 1020. Unfortunately there is no mention of the smartphone's specs beyond that.

If these rumors are true, the Mobile World Congress 2014 is already shaping up to be the launch ground for some of next year's top mobile devices. HTC will also reportedly launch its next flagship smartphone, replacing the HTC One with the codenamed HTC M8 at the conference.

MWC 2014 is scheduled to take place from Feb. 24 through Feb. 27 2014 in Barcelona, Spain. We'll have to file these latest Nokia leaks in the rumor category for now but we'll keep you updated as soon as more information comes available.
