Shopify launched its new AI chatbot that aims to help merchants with their queries. 

The company called its new chatbot, Sidekick, as it can complete task for users like sales trends within a store. In a nutshell, Sidekick is meant for merchants to save more time while browsing the platform. 

Shopify's Sidekick feature is not yet available upon its announcement with no specific release date revealed.

How Sidekick Works in Shopify 

The Sidekick tool will be placed in a sidebar to the right of the traditional Shopify dashboard. 

Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke asserted that "Sidekick knows everything Shopify knows," making it easier for merchants to use. 

"We believe entrepreneurs are heroes, this is our foundational belief here, and every hero needs a sidekick," said Lutke in the Sidekick promotional video. 

Sidekick features how to design your store, developer documentation, and economic trends. 

AI Assistants Through The Web 

The integration of AI through various platforms have been increasing. 

An article in Entrepreneur explained the advantages of utilizing ChatGPT and AI to boost a Shopify store. 

"Customer support plays a vital role in the success of any Shopify store. It's essential to provide your customers with exceptional assistance and prompt responses to their inquiries," the article stated. 

Shopify now joins Zoom and Dropbox as business software companies using AI tools.
