5 Video Games That Would Make Great Movie Adaptations

We've seen many great games turned into movies or TV shows, and while some of them did not meet the fans' expectations, many of them turned out great like Netflix's "Arcane" and Max's "The Last of Us." But, there are multiple titles out there that would make great adaptations.

1. Red Dead Redemption 2

Let's face it, this is something that a lot of producers had missed. There's a lot of potential in it, especially since the games already have a huge fanbase. It is also regarded as one of the games with the most heartbreaking stories, impacting players in a way that others don't.

However, its narrative advantage over others could also be the reason why it could become yet another flop. Players are well aware of how good the game's plot is, so they are bound to have high expectations. More often than not, underwhelming outcomes ruin an otherwise good adaptation.

2. Valorant

Riot Games has a way of creating interesting backstories for its characters, which is why "Arcane" was a hit, even with those who haven't played the game it was based on. The same can be said for the lore the studio provided for its Valorant agents.

The game already has cinematics introducing both old and new characters, as well as events that let us see the agents in action. When they do it right, just as they did with "Arcane," they might just get another hit, especially since the cinematics already get millions of views on YouTube.

3. Assassin's Creed: Origins

Yes, there already is an "Assassin's Creed" movie, but frankly, it kind of fell short. They introduced a whole new character, which somewhat alienated some of the game franchise's fans since they expected an already-existing character like Altair.

Assassin's Creed: Origins would be a good fit for an adaptation, especially since the game shows how the Assassins Brotherhood was formed, previously called "The Hidden Ones." It also has famous historical figures like Cleopatra and Julius Caesar.

4. Detroit: Become Human

The adaptation would be timely, especially with the advancement of AI. The story follows the "lives" of three androids, Kara, Connor, and Markus. The entire game shows what life would be like if we had human-like robots that could assist us with our lives.

The three protagonists, however, start to become sentient, and are therefore called "deviants." Markus starts to recruit other androids who want to be free from what's basically slavery (since they have developed a consciousness).

5. Horizon Zero Dawn

The game focuses on the life of Aloy, who is a hunter in a world that has been taken over by both nature and machines. The game's setting is a dystopian future, while the protagonist is on a mission to unveil the past and how the world came to be.

It has the elements that you need for dystopian tropes, from weapons made of scraps to remnants of an old world that has been destroyed because of humans. It's a brilliant take on the measures that people would go through to evade disaster, like creating machine animals to recreate the Earth's biosphere.
