Activision Bans 14,000 Cheaters in Call of Duty

Activision announced that the company has detected and removed more than 14,000 cheaters from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone.

"In the last 24 hours, new detections directly targeting cheat developers at the source has led to over 14,000 account bans for cheating and hacking in Modern Warfare II and Warzone," CODUpdates tweeted.

This is not the first time that Call of Duty banned thousands of cheating accounts in span of short time. Last 2022, Activision removed over 90,000 accounts from Call of Duty: Warzone.

Activision's Battle Against Cheat Engines

Activision, among other gaming companies, have been battling with cheat developers for so long. In 2022, EngineOwning was fined with $3 million damages to Activision.

To take further action, Activision launched its Ricochet system to combat cheat accounts in the game.

For instance, a damage shield will be added to players where cheaters will not be able to produce a critical damage, once the system detected any cheating activity.
