Meta Quest Launches New Customization Features in Recent Update

Meta added more features to improve user experience in using the Quest with the v57 update

Meta Introduces Customization for Quest Avatars

With the v57 update, Meta will be releasing a more detailed and diverse skin tones, hair colors, and cosmetics. Users can now fine tune their avatar's hair and eyebrow color that fits their style. Most importantly, users can now accurately adjust the skin tone, add makeup, and face paint. 

According to Meta, they know that representation matters. The goal of the new update is to make people be more comfortable with their VR persona by having choices to customized their avatar's look as close to how they see themselves in real life. On the other hand, users are still free to experiment on their VR persona's look depending on how they want to show up in the metaverse.

Aside from customization, Meta rolled out the feature unsend image messages. The feature works the same way as the unsend feature works in the Messenger app. For transparency, once you unsent a message, the recipient will get a notification that the message was removed. 

In addition, the Meta Quest mobile app is now available to Australia, Canada, Iceland, New Zealand, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United States. 

On the other hand, Explore was now replaced with Horizon Feed which features your go-to content that are curated based to your passions and interests. Meta also assured that the Horizon Feed is built with age-appropriate system and requires user's to indicate their age.
