X New Feature Launches to Several Countries

The optional feature is now available to several countries starting from the United States. However, the feature is not yet available to the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), and the United Kingdom.

According to X's updated help page, the platform stated that the new verification process is for "safety and security purposes" and to "prevent impersonation." Moreover, it could also be used to verify the age of the users.

To accomplish the feature, X partnered with Au10tix, an Israel-based identity verification company. Interested users will have to permit X and Au10tix to collect their data such as ID, selfie, and biometric data. The verification company may store the collected data for 30 days.
