Capcom's Devil May Cry is Getting an Animated Series on Netflix

Netflix released a teaser trailer for "Devil May Cry" animated series which is based on Capcom's video game franchise with the same title.

Devil May Cry's Long History

Devil May Cry was originally published by Capcom in 2001. For years, the game series has been widely available on mobile, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation consoles, and Xbox consoles.

The game's premise revolves around a demon hunter named Dante. The gameplay is packed with action and adventure as Dante puts all his efforts to defeat various demon invasions on Earth.

Created by Hideki Kamiya, Devil May Cry has produced multiple game titles, manga, and comics over the span of two decades. In addition, there was also an original anime based on the game that ran for 12 episodes from June to September 2007.

Netflix Expands Game Adaptations Collection

Game Rant reported that "Devil May Cry" was part of Netflix's "Drop One" round of reveals. Various anime titles were featured during the reveal including the highly anticipated "Castlevania: Nocturne." Other adaptations that are in the works are "Scott Pilgrim" anime and Naoki Urasawa's "Pluto."

While the teaser did not reveal much of the information, it was already confirmed that "Devil May Cry" is produced by Capcom and Studio MIR, a Korean animation studio that created the adaptation of "LOOKISM." In addition, "Castlevania" executive producer Adi Shankar was also credited as the creator of "Devil May Cry."
