TikTok Ad-Free Subscription Plan

Android Authority reported that TikTok is already testing a subscription plan that will allow users to experience the app ad-free with a certain fee. The news site also revealed the screenshots that TikTok used to announce the changes.

For the standard plan, users can still enjoy the app for free but with ads. The ads will be shown based on the user activity that TikTok gathered. More so, data from third-party apps will only be used once enabled.

On the other hand, the ad-free plan will allow users to enjoy the app without any bother from ads. The plan, however, will cost $4.99 per month. The move is not new to social media platforms as others have been doing it for years. TikTok has yet to confirm or comment on the unofficial announcement.

TikTok Continues to Diversify Revenue Stream

TikTok has now become more than an entertainment site. The company has been implementing features that allow creators to earn money while producing content on the platform.

TikTok Live, for instance, was able to give opportunities for live streamers to earn money through gifts and tokens given to them by their viewers.

Recently, the company opened TikTok Shop, an in-app marketplace, in the United States. However, the platform has been struggling to moderate the marketplace as users found counterfeited and banned items being sold on the shop.
