7 Halloween Costume Ideas from Movies, TV Shows This 2023

Halloween is right around the corner, which means that the opportunity for you to don a costume is drawing near. While some outfits can easily be bought in stores, there are those you have to work on. If you have no idea who you'll be yet, here are costume ideas from shows and movies that were released this year.

1. Roronoa Zoro from 'One Piece'

Netflix's "One Piece" is a hit, so you might see more than one person dressed as Zoro, but if you feel like you really want to play the badass katana-wielder, then you should do so. His outfit is easy enough to recreate. All you need are his three katanas, which you'll find plenty of since it's a very popular show.

2. Ahsoka from 'Star Wars: Ahsoka'

Fans of the "Star Wars" franchise were excited about the release of the show, and based on the reviews, they were not disappointed. Sure, the headwear might take work along with the makeup, but it's certainly a character that a lot of people would appreciate. Plus, you'll be walking around with a lightsaber!

3. Star-Lord from 'Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 3'

The movie showed us a new uniform for the gang, one where Peter Quill also known as Star-Lord is no longer wearing his signature red leather jacket and satchel. You can still opt for that, or you can put your sewing skills to the test and recreate their new uniform. Don't forget the identifying insignia on the outfit's chest.

4. Daryl Dixon from 'The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon'

By the end of the show "The Walking Dead," Maggie tasked Daryl to look beyond their community and ended up in Paris, which will be the location for the spinoff. With the interest renewed for the beloved character, you can dress up as the motorcycle-riding zombie killer with the iconic hairstyle.

5. Yennefer of Vengerberg from 'The Witcher'

With every season of the show, we see a new selection of outfits from Yennefer. The third season has its fair share of good ones, especially her dress at the ball. You can choose whatever outfit she wore on the show, just as long as you show the most important features such as purple eyes, long and wavy black hair, and her pendant.

6. Richter Belmont from 'Castlevania: Nocturne'

Even though the series was just released, it is already among the most-liked shows on Netflix. "Castlevania" already has an established fanbase, so if you're also a fan, you can expect people to recognize the character. Since the show is new, you might not find ready-made costumes, but if you know how to sew, the outfit is not actually that complicated.

7. Gwen Stacy from 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse'

The sequel to "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" is as much of a hit as the first one. Unlike the usual red and blue color scheme that we see with Spider-Man variations across the multiverse, she wears a mostly black and white costume. It's the same as the first movie, so it might not be as hard to find one that you can just purchase.
