Resident Evil 4

Whether you are familiar with the Resident Evil series or just overwhelmed with where to start, Resident Evil 4 is the perfect game for you. As you enter the game you become Leon S. Kennedy, a special agent tasked to rescue the president's daughter. As you track her to a remote European village, you find that the villagers have transformed into hostile and parasite-infested creatures. 

The goal here is to survive the attacks that come from the creature while trying to find the president's daughter. At the same time, it is also your duty to unveil the truth about the cult that has been controlling the village.

Phasmophobia

Released at the height of the pandemic, Phasmophobia perfected its chilling effect. The game quickly became popular among streamers and ordinary players to try and witness a new approach to ghost hunting and paranormal investigation. The game is currently in early access mode and can run in both standard and VR modes. 

Phasmophobia allows you to bring up to three friends and take on the roles of paranormal investigators. As a team, you have to work together to identify and document all the supernatural phenomena that you will witness in the game. Most of the tasks revolve around exploring haunted locations, gathering evidence, and identifying the various types of ghosts within the locations. 

Little Nightmares II

Little Nightmares II is a platformer game by Tarsier Studios and Bandai Namco Entertainment. In the sequel to the well-received Little Nightmares, you will assume the character of Mono and will be accompanied by Six, the protagonist from the prequel. 

As a duo, you will explore a world filled with terrifying creatures with the goal of uncovering the dark secrets of the world. If you are into platforming and puzzle-solving games, then this will be the perfect game for you. As Mono, you will have to face all the environments that are known for their unique challenges and diverse types of horrors. 

Dead by Daylight

A unique four-versus-one horror game where one player assumes the role of a killer while the four others play as a survivor. If you are the killer, you can choose from various abilities and playstyles as long as you guarantee to hunt down, capture, and sacrifice the survivors to the Entity. 

Meanwhile, playing as a survive will give you a unique ability and perks that will help you escape the entity that trapped you in the realm. Survivors are tasked to repair generators in order to switch on the exit gates while remaining undetected by the killer. 

Blair Witch

Based on the "Blair Witch Project" film franchise, the game sets you to play as Ellis, a troubled former police officer, who is tasked to find the missing boy in Black Hills Forest. The village is known for its connection to the legends of a witch. 

Accompanied by your dog Bullet, you will be exploring the dark and twisted woods. Along your adventure, you might find strange occurrences, cryptic messages, and a growing sense of dread. The game is leaning more toward the psychological aspect of the horror games.
