Uber Eats Adds a Bundle Service Where Customers Can Order from Two Places

It's hard to have cravings that cannot be bought from one store, especially if you're ordering through a delivery app since you'll surely be charged for the extra trip. Luckily, Uber Eats is considerate toward those intending to buy from two food places as it adds a bundle for that exact service.

Two Stores, One Fee

If for instance, you start thinking about ramen but also want to order burgers from a different store, you can now turn to Uber Eats to fulfill your cravings, and you won't even have to pay the additional fee that comes with other delivery apps.

In order to do so, all you have to do is place your order for the first store and then tap "bundle another store" at the bottom of your screen. After that, you can start adding more items from the second store before you check out, as reported by Engadget.

An Uber Eats spokesperson said that the feature will even recommend nearby food places that can be paired with the initial store you're ordering from, mainly as a way to make sure that the delivery worker won't have to travel too far to the point that your food gets cold.

The delivery service already had this kind of offer before, although customers can only bundle with items from convenience stores since it's easier to pick up items from there, and it will likely be along the way from the food place to the customer's delivery address.

With the new bundle service, there will be no limitations in place. That means that it won't just be convenience stores or food businesses that were recommended by the app. The customer can even choose to order liquor from another store if they want to.

DoorDash also has a similar service called DoubleDash, although, unlike Uber Eats' new service, DoubleDash still limits customers to only having convenience stores as their second location for ordering.

Uber Eats Will Accept SNAP and FSA in 2024

In the spirit of consideration, Uber Eats is also planning to accept the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program from users to pay for fresh groceries which can be done within the app. It's a way for the business to provide a "meaningful impact" in reducing barriers to fresh groceries.

People with disabilities, transportation barriers, inconvenient locations, and seniors, will benefit most from the upcoming change. Uber Eats is even working with Managed Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans for more available services.

With that addition, people will be able to use their FSA Cards, Flex Cards, and relevant waiver payments on the app to pay for certain items. This makes it easier for people to access healthy food and connect with local groceries.

To further add ways to save on groceries, the app will have a Sales Aisle section where the best deals on brands are conveniently compiled for customers. A curated selection of the current sales and promos can be found in the "Ways to save on essentials" saving customers time in searching through the app.
