"Ready or Not" is a 2019 horror-comedy film that was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The movie captured many fans with the remarkable storyline and the actors that played interesting characters.
Set in a lavish mansion of the Le Domas family a new member will have to go through the family's game night tradition in order to be welcomed. If she survives, she will be officially part of the family.

Unique Premise
The Le Domas family is the people behind the popular Le Domas Family Games Company. In the movie, it was explained that the family company's success was due to the deal that Victor Le Domas made with the man called Le Bail.
In order to keep their fortune, every time there is a new family member they must play a game to honor the tradition. Grace, the new member, drew "Hide and Seek." From there, Grace would have to hide and try to survive while the other family members would try everything to kill and sacrifice her.
Villains' Storyline
Each Le Domas family member has their own story to tell. For instance, Daniel witnessed how his family murdered his Aunt's husband during a game. Grace's husband, Alex, becomes estranged from the family after meeting Grace since he believes that his family is cursed. Meanwhile, their sister Emilie became a drug addict as a way to cope with the family's antics.
Other family members of the Le Domas family have a strong belief that all of their success and fortune will be gone if they fail to a newcomer to Le Bail. Hence, they are willing to fight and kill just to maintain their wealth.
Strong Female Lead
Although Grace was seen as confused and nice before the game started, she immediately realized that she was alone on the journey. Her husband, Alex, is in no way capable of helping her survive. Once she got the adrenaline to survive, she did everything she could and relied on her resourcefulness. Fortunately, she was able to outsmart the Le Domas family leaving her as the winner of the game.
Gore
"Ready or Not" did not shy away from portraying gore scenes. Since the premise of the movie is killing, it only made sense for the directors to show how each death happened. If you are scared of blood, then maybe this film is not for you. On the contrary, people who love gore movies would definitely enjoy every gruesome scene in this film.
Social Commentary
The Le Domas family portrays how wealth can corrupt one's mind. In order to maintain the success of the company and be at the top of the social class, the family was willing to throw away a human's life just for their sake.
The family was also seen as snobbish to the working class, especially with Grace who came from a less privileged background. Moreover, they also thought that Grace was easy prey since she had no family at all. These instances only proved how the Le Domas family blurred the lines between right and wrong.
