Sony Unveils Release Date for PlayStation Earbuds, Headset

Sony officially announced the release date for the PlayStation Pulse Explore earbuds and Pulse Elite headset with the earbuds launching on December 6 and the wireless headset on February 21, 2024.

Sony Puts Importance to Gaming Audio Quality

Starting on November 9, gamers can pre-order the much-awaited Pulse Explore wireless earbuds, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and PlayStation Link USB adapters. The pre-order will be available in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Austria, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, and Portugal.

Pulse Elite promises lossless audio which helps in hearing every audio detail within the game. It is also equipped with a retractable boom mic that has an AI-enhanced noise rejection that can muffle and filter unnecessary noises. Meanwhile, the Pulse Explore emphasizes a premium portable audio experience. It also has dual microphones with the same AI-enhance noise cancellation and lossless audio performance.

"Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore will be the first PlayStation audio devices to use custom-designed planar magnetic drivers for an audiophile-level listening experience normally found in premium headphones for professional sound engineers," PlayStation wrote. Moreover, the company also boasted of being one of the first companies to offer an audio device in the market using planar magnetic technology.

The Pulse Explore will be hitting the PlayStation stores earlier, just in time before Christmas on December 6. The wireless earbuds will be sold for $199.99. On the other hand, customers who are eyeing the wireless headset would have to wait until next year. The Pulse Elite will be available on February 21 at a price of $149.99.

Meanwhile, the company also introduced the PlayStation Link which will allow the new audio devices to connect directly with PlayStation Portal. With the link, gamers can experience low latency, lossless audio, and easy switching across multiple Link hosts and Portal.
