Popular children's game Roblox is currently facing a class action lawsuit from multiple parents for allegedly hosting inappropriate content on its platforms.

The lawsuit accuses Roblox Corp. of "negligent misrepresentation and false advertising" after reports of several children being supposedly exposed to grooming and sexual content.

According to the lawsuit, children are being exposed to "nude" avatars, "avatars engaging in intercourse, and use of sex toys, as well as virtual strip clubs" while playing.

The complaint also cited a Daily Mail report about the game's "infamous" condo games where "the basement was a torch-lit sex dungeon."

Walsh Law, the firm representing the parents, said that the "game fails to warn and misleads parents about the widespread inappropriate and harmful content."

Roblox Lawsuits in the Past

This was the second lawsuit against Roblox in recent months, following a complaint in California for illegally facilitating child gambling through its in-game purchases.

Roblox only allows purchases via its in-game currency, Robux, which many of the parents spent a ridiculous amount of money on.

The plaintiffs previously called on Roblox's Terms of Service for allowing third-party betting sites to operate within its platform.

Roblox, however, said that the sites do violate the game's community standard and has then been denied access.

The company vowed to "continue to be vigilant" against users that "endanger the safety of our community."

Roblox's Child Safety Protocol on the Platform

Recent surveys show that more than half of its 70 million users are within the Gen Z group, aged 13 years and older.

The wide appeal of the game and its community-based platform often received criticisms from watch groups concerned over the safety of minor players.

Nonprofit children's media organization Common Sense Media issued a warning to parents about the prevalence of profanity, sexual, and racist content within the platform's community.

With Roblox's recent introduction of one-on-one chatting experience, many fear that the issues will only be more prevalent.
