The sudden death of the Princess of Wales and the royal family's attitude on the incident has been a long-standing debate for many.

Now it is time to rip away the covers and see how "The Crown" relives the ghost of the Princess of Hearts.

Deviations from Historical Records

"The Crown" is not your History Channel documentary and has always deviated from reality in favor of spicing up the drama.

The final season isn't much worse than Season 5 with its inaccuracies, but still took liberties in some essential parts of the story.

One notable deviation was with Mohamed Al-Fayed's narrative.

Al-Fayed is the owner of the place Diana stayed off during her last summer and the father of Dodi, the princess's romantic partner at that time.

The series painted the older Fayed in a far harsher light: motivating his son to get into a relationship with Diana and hiring photographer Mario Brenna to capture Diana kissing Dodi.

There were no records that corroborated this narrative. The whole drama with father and son seems to be embellished for the sake of the show.

All About Diana

They made Diana the focus of the story.

Gone are the days of Queen Elizabeth II's quasi-tragic hero narrative, replaced by the younger Queen-in-waiting.

While the depiction of Diana was taken seriously, some viewers may notice how the series stalled and milked Diana's story.

The season also showed the literal ghosts of Diana and Dodi assuring their family from the feelings of guilt.

Whether it is presented literally or as a figment of imagination, 'The Crown" writer and creator Peter Morgan did not specify.

Royal Family's Reaction to Diana's Death

While there have been some deviations as to how the death of the princess was delivered to her sons, this was the most serious moment the series took on.

Viewers finally get the first-class seat to how the people saw the royal family's cold attitude towards Diana's passing.

The drama behind the closed doors and its eventual effects on the family is yet to be seen, at least from the perspective of "The Crown."

All seasons of "The Crown" are available on Netflix with the second part of Season 6 releasing on Dec. 14.
