New Starlink Kit Rolls Out Exclusively

The new Standard Kit comes with the Starlink, a kickstand, a Gen 3 router, a 15m Starlink cable, a 1.5m AC cable, and a power supply. Unfortunately, the kit will only be available through invitation only in the U.S.

"We are unable to accommodate order requests from customers who did not receive an invitation," the Starlink support page announced. Meanwhile, interested buyers are requested to stay updated for the possible wider release of the product.

Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt posted a quick start video for the new device on X, detailing the setup guide for the select users.

What's New With Standard Starlink Kit?

SpaceX improved the weather resistance rating of the device from IP54 to IP67, making it dust-proof. In addition, the device can also be submerged in up to one meter of water for as long as 30 minutes before acquiring any damage. It is also capable of operating with winds over 60mph.

Compared to the previous model, the Wi-Fi router was redesigned to sit on its long edge rather than standing upright. The tri-band Wi-Fi 6 router can cover up to 3,200 square feet, a big enhancement compared to the 2,000 square feet coverage of the older router.

SpaceX will also sell mounts for customers who would like to secure their Starlink device in a secure place. It will be roughly the same size as the old Standard terminal.
