'Barbie' is Ready to Stream This December on Max

The 2023 blockbuster hit by Greta Gerwig is finally arriving on another streaming service as "Barbie" will be available on Max starting December 15.

'Barbie' Comes to Streaming Platforms 

Last September, "Barbie" officially went digital after Amazon announced its arrival on Prime Video. The movie was also released on iTunes while the Blu-ray and DVD editions are sold on Amazon, Walmart, and Target for $24.96.

In a press release, Warner Bros. Discovery honored the milestone of the "Barbie" film for being the highest-grossing global release within the studio's 100-year history. Moreover, the Max will be releasing the film with the American Sign Language (ASL). 

"By offering sign language interpretation, we will build upon the film's empowering message of inclusiveness and offer a unique viewing experience for the Deaf community to enjoy with family and friends," the CEO and Chairman for HBO and Max content Casey Bloys shared.

Max to Host Special Community Screening for 'Barbie' 

To celebrate the arrival of the film to the platform, Max will be hosting a special community screening on December 14 in Los Angeles. The event will be attended by Barbie herself, Margot Robbie, and Leila Hanaumi for a post-screening conversation. 

Moreover, the event will be in collaboration with the Deaf West Theater, whose mission is to fight the stigma and advance the opportunities for people with disabilities. "Barbie" with ASL will be displayed as a special title in-app. 

The "Barbie" film soundtrack was previously nominated for 11 GRAMMY awards and has officially crossed $1 billion at the global box office officially beating "The Dark Knight."
