LG Promotes Smart Life Solution With New AI Robot

LG is actively campaigning for its "Zero Labor Home" vision, which promotes a smart life solution that can enhance the daily lives of its customers. According to the company, the bipedal robot is programmed to navigate one's home independently. It has articulated leg joints, which allow it to make various movements.

Moreover, the moving smart hub can connect with other smart home appliances and household IoT devices. Similar to existing smart assistants, the robot uses voice and facial recognition to analyze and execute commands.

The robot is made possible through LG's latest collaboration with Qualcomm and is equipped with the Robotics RB5 platform. The AI agent also features a built-in camera, speaker, and various sensors to gather real-time data on its surroundings, such as humidity, air quality, and temperature.

LG's Smart Home Patrol, Pet Watcher

LG shared that the new device was created to lift the burden of housework for its customers. For instance, the AI robot can patrol the home on its own and monitor any unusual event while the user is away. It can also turn off unused devices in the house if connected to a smart outlet.

Most importantly, the new LG device can act as a pet monitor for people who always want to check their fur babies. Users can see their pets remotely and get notified of any unusual activity while they are far from home.

"Our groundbreaking smart home AI agent combines cutting-edge autonomous mobility and AI technologies with advanced communication capabilities and services to help free customers from household chores," the president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, Lyu Jae-Cheol, shared.

The new robot is making its first public appearance at the CES 2024 from January 9 to 12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
