The network equipment company has introduced its new smart lock during the event which will be coming soon this year. Like most smart locks, it uses several methods for unlocking, which include fingerprint scanning, passcodes, physical keys, its own app, RFID, and more.

Using the Tapo app, you'll be able to see who's at the door through the 2K camera with an ultra-wide view. It has a detection feature as well to alert you if you have visitors. With the camera, you will be able to communicate remotely through the two-way audio and live view.

What's more, is that you can create temporary passcodes for guests that you only want to allow for a certain period of time. This can be done through the Tapo app, where you can also enable the Tapo DL130's auto-lock feature and alerts.

With the auto-lock function, you won't have to worry about whether you forgot to lock your home or not. It also has high-level security as the product boasts of "bank-grade fingerprint recognition algorithms, BHMA-certified durability, scramble passcodes, wrong-try protection," and more.

If you have your hands full, you can instruct your smart home voice assistant to unlock the door for you. It works with systems like Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa, ensuring that the smart lock is compatible with multiple devices.

Other Smart Locks from CES 2024

If you feel like the TP-Link smart lock does not offer the feature you want for your smart home, there are other products that might just do it for you. CES 2024 saw a variety of smart door locks that offer other forms of biometric security.

Lockly, for instance, has a new smart door lock that can detect users through facial recognition. Of course, it also has other methods for unlocking such as the more widely used physical key, PIN codes, keycards, phone app, and a fingerprint scanner.

For Apple users, the Lockly Visage smart lock communicates well with Apple devices since you can use Apple Home Keys or your Apple Watch to unlock the door. It works with your smart home system as well through Matter.

As for Philips, its new Smart Deadbolt 5000 has a unique feature where it can scan your palm to identify you using its Palm Vein Recognition technology. As expected, it also comes with a keypad for PIN codes, a fingerprint scanner, and a physical key.

Using the Home Access app, you can generate up to 100 unique user PIN codes, as well as 50 palm IDs. The smart lock is equipped with detection from the inside so that it automatically unlocks once you reach for the doorknob or level, eliminating the need to unlock it every time.
