Store in a Safe Place

These headsets must be stored in a protective case or a designated space to prevent accumulating dust, scratches, or accidental falls. You must also ensure that you are not storing them somewhere that is prone to be extremely hot or extremely cold as it could damage the internal components of the device.

While it is inevitable to get some dust from time to time, make sure to only use a microfiber cloth to gently clean the lenses. Never use a harsh chemical to clean your lenses as it could damage the coating in the long run.

Keep the Coast Clear

Before using your headset, make sure to clean the area where you will be using it. Take out any obstacles or tripping hazards that could knock you off while playing.

To prevent any accident, it is advisable to have a cable management system. In this way, all the cords are organized and you won't have to worry about tripping over cables or accidentally pulling them.

Never Leave Lenses Exposed

Lenses used in these headsets are sensitive to light. Hence, you must avoid exposing them to direct sunlight for an extended time. Too much direct exposure could damage the display. If not in use, store them in its protective case.

On the other hand, you must use the headset in a well-lit room. This will provide accurate tracking for the sensors for a smooth performance.

Clean the Facial Interface

Since you will be using the device directly on your face, it is advised to clean it regularly to maintain hygiene and prevent any discomfort. For instance, if the padding is removable make sure to check their status from time to time.

You should always check your straps as well as unmatched straps could stress your neck. Make sure that the head straps you are using are comfortable and are adjusted to fit your head comfortably.

Update Firmware and Software

Not all maintenance comes from the outside of the headset. As a user, you should also regularly check for firmware and software updates for your headset.

This is crucial for the device's performance as it will optimize your headset with new applications. Keeping your system up-to-date will improve its performance and fix bugs.
