Epic Games Increases Monthly Active Users by Giving Away $2,000 Worth of Games in 2023

Epic Games Store revealed in its 2023 review that the platform earned a 10% increase in monthly active users from 68 million to 75 million. 

Currently, the platform has accumulated a total of 804 million Epic cross-platform accounts with an increased user count of 40 million from 2022.

Epic Games Store Successfully Launched Free Games Program 

Epic Games Store is widely popular with gamers due to its big discounts and free games program. According to the company, the store is continuously thriving through partnerships with developers and publishers. 

Last year, the company brought 86 free games which is worth $2,000 in total. In addition, more than 580 million free games were claimed in 2023 which helped developers expand their audience. 

In addition, Epic Rewards has been a help to boost purchases in the store. Epic announced that its goal is to make it the best loyalty program in the industry. 

"Throughout the year, we boosted those Rewards up to 10% during our key Epic Games Store sales, which we plan to continue in 2024," the company announced.

Epic announced that it will shift its focus to improve game discovery and overall player experience in 2024. Regardless, the company assured that there are still several developer-focused features that are coming. 

This year, a new download manager will debut which will feature controlled timing with updates, schedule downloads, reordering queue, and more. More options for communicating with Epic friends will also launch. 

In addition, subscription support for developers and publishers is set to be released. This will allow creators to earn rewards through subscriptions purchased on the game store. 

Epic also announced some of the most anticipated games on the platform this year including Homeworld 3, Killing Floor III, Pacific Drive, and more.
