Nootti Promotes Cross-Posting on Social Media

Social media enthusiasts often handle different accounts for each platform. However, staying active on different apps could be a hassle, especially, when users have to duplicate their posts on different platforms.

Sunbird introduced its new app Nootti which acts as a multi-service social networking site. Compared to other Twitter-like apps, Nootti only supports simple text and text with media posts.

Developer Petri Kajander shared that the best strategy to remain relevant is to post in multiple places and keep the engagement local.

"A lot of people have stopped posting altogether or they are only in one place. This means that you have to extend your presence to multiple places but it takes too much time," he added.

To use Nootti and customize each post for different platforms, by typing the post in the Main tab. Each post will be automatically filled but they are editable.

According to Kajander, he developed Nootti intending to require users to write their own posts, citing that he does not believe in auto-posting.

"The current state of social media is defragmentation and, if you just wait, it will not change the status quo. You need to be active to be part of the change," he said.

Currently, Nootti is available to download for free on the App Store. However, Kajander stated that he is working on the paid version but is yet to finalize the revenue model that he will use.

Kajender is still deciding whether to support other networks like Threads. For now, users can cross-post to any other app using the share button within Nootti instead.
