Airbnb released a new highlight label that will show if the listing belongs to the top one percent or if the listing belongs to the bottom 10% of ranked listings.

Airbnb Improves User Experience Through Labels

Last year, Airbnb launched the verified badge for listings that have completed the process across the U.S., Canada, Australia, the U.K., and France. Currently, almost 1.5 million listings are set to receive their badge.

"We'll soon introduce new tools - including photo and video authentication - for more Hosts in those countries to verify their homes, and, starting this fall, we'll launch listing verification in 30 additional countries," the company announced.

Recently, the Guest Favorites label was introduced, allowing listings to automatically promote themselves through ratings, reviews, and reliability data. Starting this summer, a listing that belongs to the top one percent will receive a trophy icon, while a new function will be added for lowest-rated listings.

Airbnb Works to Eliminate Low-Quality Listings

Last year, Airbnb updated its hosting quality system which evaluated the listings that might have failed to meet the expectations of the customers. During the first three months of implementation, 12,000 low-quality listings were removed from the platform. It ballooned to up to 100,000 over the year.

"This is the largest set of removals we've ever made and we're building new tools to prevent these homes from being relisted," Airbnb promised.

The company also clarified that before a listing is removed, the Hosts are given tips and actionable feedback on how to improve the guest experience.

Airbnb is also working on improving the terms of host cancellations to avoid any issues or concerns from both sides. As of the last quarter of 2023, cancellations were reduced by 36%.
