Meta is further integrating AI technology into its platforms by designing a new mega model to improve video and Facebook Reel recommendations across its social media sites.
CNBC News reported that Facebook head Tom Alison will spearhead the AI ramp-up as part of Meta's "technology roadmap that goes to 2026."

According to Alison, Meta is currently in "Phase 3" of the roadmap as it is already restructuring its AI system and preparing to roll out the model to all its products.
Alison expects the new "model architecture" could help Facebook gain 8% to 10% viewership and will "power our entire video ecosystem," including video suggestions on its Feed tab.
Reels currently contribute to 30% of all the videos on the platform, which account for more than 50% of the total time spent on Facebook, Barron's reported.
Meta has been noted for increasing its arsenal of GPU hardware, primarily from NVIDIA, to meet the predicted demand for the AI model.

Meta to Debut AI Chatbot for Facebook Feed Recommendations
In addition to an improved recommendation system for its videos and Reels, Meta announced that it is preparing to launch an AI chatbot to help suggest posts on the Facebook Feed tab.
Alison said the chatbot will help users customize the suggested content to them. For example, users can ask the AI to recommend the latest trending posts about topics and personalities.
Meta said it is currently experimenting with bringing the chatbot to Facebook Groups as a way to help members get an answer based on the related posts on their group page.
Meta Feared to Suffer Bot Infestation
While Meta is confident that the push for more AI features on its platforms will provide positive results, its rapid integration of the technology will open more risks for users.
Meta's AI previously made headlines for generating racially biased depictions of historical figures and racial groups.
The company also raised eyebrows for censoring political posts on its platform.
The introduction of an AI system designed to comply with Meta's new content policies is feared to further stifle online protests as it did with some pro-Palestinian posts.
