WWDC 2024: What We Know So Far

Apple announced on Tuesday the opening of one of the tech giant's biggest annual event with the promise to elevate apps and games across its devices.

The announcement coincides with earlier reports of Apple pushing AI-powered tools to help developers in coding for Apple App Store-exclusive products.

According to Bloomberg reports, Apple has "ramped up" the development of its Xcode programming tool to be able to release it to third-party developers within the year.

With the company planning to release more information about the iOS 18 during the conference, it is not farfetched that Apple will not roll out the software during or shortly after the event.

The assistive AI tool will also match up with the confirmed tech demonstrations as insights "into new tools, frameworks, and features."

iOS 18 is Promised to be a Direct Improvement of iOS 17, 16

If there is one thing that is sure to generate conversations about the event, it will be the much-awaited iOS 18.

Apple has been teasing the prospect of powering its latest operating system for iPhones with advanced AI technology even during the early releases of iOS 17 updates.

Data leaks on the software have already indicated that the new OS will introduce more features and system upgrades than the 17's lackluster comparison to iOS 16.

This can already be seen with the integration of more powerful processing chips to iPhones over the past releases following Apple's declaration to compete with Google's Pixel series in terms of AI capabilities.

Most notable improvement will be the introduction of streamlined AI assistants, at least more powerful than Siri, across all main functions of the phone.
