Spotify Releases AI Playlist After AI DJ's Success

Last year, Spotify launched an AI DJ which opened a new listening experience to users by having a personalized DJ that will play songs based on your existing data. In addition, the daylist feature also found itself on a successful note due to its engaging nature.

In a press release, Spotify detailed how the beta version of the AI Playlist feature allows users to discover new songs. "Whether you're a beginner or an expert playlist creator, AI Playlist pairs our powerful personalization technology with AI to deliver that perfect musical mix just for you," the company wrote.

Users are encouraged to create unique prompts using animals, activities, movie characters, colors, and even emojis. According to the company, the best way to create a playlist is to write a prompt with a combination of genres, moods, artists, or decades.

How to Use Spotify AI Playlist

Although the feature has yet to be released widely, Premium users from the U.K. and Australia can now explore the feature after updating their app. The AI Playlist is available at the bottom-right corner of the screen on "Your Library."

Once activated, users can either create their own prompts or select one of the suggested prompts. "For example, you could try creating "sad music for painting dying flowers" or "tracks for horse riding into the sunset," Spotify explained.

Users are also free to manage and revise the suggested playlist, depending on their preferences. The created playlist will be saved automatically in "Your Library."

Since the feature is still in Beta, Spotify reminded users that non-music-related prompts will not produce any results, such as current events or specific brands. Offensive prompts are also monitored to avoid abuse.
