Pokemon GO Hints Major Update Ahead of 2024 Pokemon GO Fest

Niantic is teasing an upcoming big update that will help players "rediscover" Pokemon GO, along with possible multiple updates until the Pokemon GO Fest 2024 event on May 30.

The Pokemon GO Fest is set to make a comeback starting on May 30 in Sendai, Japan but will also come to Madrid and New York City by June and July, respectively.

Pokemon GO Teases for Major Update

In an X post, Niantic shared a teaser and announced that big updates are coming soon on Pokemon GO. The game's official X account also hinted at the surprise with the hashtag #RediscoverGO.

Since the post did not give away any details, some players were quick to make their predictions about the possible updates. Some of them believe that a throwback event or a redesign could be coming into the game.

In addition, some fans are hoping for major gameplay improvements including unlimited Remote Raids, a higher level cap, and a new way to play the game even at home. Regardless of the lack of clarification, the announcement quickly gained attention and is already nearing one million views.

Niantic Preps for Annual Pokemon GO Fest

The annual Pokemon GO Fest is one of the most-awaited events of the players. The event will start on May 30 with its first destination in Sendai, Japan. During the event, players can team up with other people in the city to complete time-sensitive activities and catch new Pokemon.

Afterward, the event is expected to come to Madrid, Spain, and New York City in June and July. Niantic is known for testing new features on select regions before rolling them on a global scale. Players around the world can join the event on July 13.

While waiting for the Pokemon Go Fest 2024, players can participate in Community Day events and other World of Wonders events to collect rewards. Some of the rewards can be used in the annual event.
