Onn 4K Pro's Magic Button Creates Shortcuts

AFTvnews first reported the new feature on the unreleased Onn 4K Pro. The Google TV-powered streaming box comes with a remote with a star button at the top right corner. The star is a customizable button that can be used as a shortcut to an app.

Upon pressing the star icon, users will be directed to choose between a shortcut or a TV input switch. If the user selects the shortcut, a list of available streaming devices will be listed and users can select a specific program.

Anytime the user presses the star button, the selected shortcut will launch. Users are also free to reassign a different app by holding the star button.

If the user decides to use the star to change the input, the user will be directed to set up their remote to control the TV or other home theater devices. The system will list the available devices like TV, soundbar, or A/V receiver.

After choosing the input, the selection will automatically work the next time the user presses the star button. However, users who choose to change their input using the button will have to navigate through the settings first to customize the button.

The specs of Onn 4K Pro were previously leaked online. The device will feature a built-in smart speaker with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. It is also equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
