LG Isai smartphone debuts with QHD display, paving the way for LG G3 launch

A brand new LG Isai smartphone just made its debut in Japan, boasting a high-resolution QHD display and other top-notch specs, paving the way for the highly-anticipated LG G3.
LG had previously announced that its upcoming flagship smartphone for 2014, the LG G3, would be its first handset to rock a QHD display, but it now seems the company already took the first step in this direction with its new LG Isai.
Launching in Japan, the LG Isai is widely seen as the Japanese version of the upcoming LG G3, and the smartphone definitely sounds promising. The handset sports a 5.5-inch QHD display with a whopping resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and packs a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor under the hood.
Other specs of the new LG Isai include 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage capacity, and the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. The smartphone further features a 13.2-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front shooter, while connectivity options include WiMax 2 + LTE-A, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC.
LG has developed its new LG Isai powerhouse in collaboration with Japanese mobile carrier KDDI, which will exclusively sell the smartphone in Japan. The companies offered no pricing details at this point, but should provide more information shortly. When it comes to color options, the smartphone will be available in white, blue, and pink flavors. The LG Isai most likely paves the way for the highly-anticipated LG G3, which will also rock a high-resolution QHD display. The upcoming LG G3, however, is expected to come with even more impressive specifications than the LG Isai and see a wider debut, rolling out to the international market. The LG Isai will likely not reach other markets outside Japan, but the LG G3 should make a global debut.
If LG will also be making the next-generation Google Nexus smartphone, this new LG Isai may be a preview not only for the upcoming LG G3, but also for the next Nexus. No exact launch timeframe is currently available for the LG G3, but the smartphone is expected to make an imminent debut.
