Moto X+1 to sport 3D interface, multifunctional power button as logo? (VIDEO)

The Moto X+1 has leaked in a new set of images, giving the world a clear look at the purported handset and revealing some more details.

Motorola is holding a press event on Sept. 4, where it will unveil its new generation of devices: the new Moto X+1 flagship smartphone, the Moto G2 (or G+1) budget handset, and the much-touted Moto 360 smartwatch.

The Moto X+1, as the name itself suggests, will arrive as the successor to last year's Moto X, and is expected to boast notable improvements all around. At the same time, the new iteration should also come with high customization options just like its predecessor.

A new set of images have now surfaced online courtesy of TK Tech News, aiming to reveal more about the upcoming Moto X+1. The publication claims that the Moto logo on the smartphone's back could in fact be a power button, which would also allow users to program it for other shortcuts.

The handset's home screen, meanwhile, shows a MOTO app, which suggests that the Moto X+1 may come with some additional software features such as Moto Aware on board. Moreover, four sensors are visible on the smartphone's front panel, suggesting that the Moto X+1 may be able to measure depth for a potential 3D-enabled interface.

"One source says these will function in concert with Moto Aware and Moto 360 together," TK Tech News writes in regards to these four sensors on the handset's front panel. "Another says they would be 3D sensors for how the display would be shown at any given angle. We are going to say this must be connected to Moto Aware. Just our guess."

Lastly, the publication also claims to have learned some details regarding the build materials used for the Moto X+1. According to the report, the smartphone will boast an aluminum frame, which has been rumored before, and back panels could be made of wood, plastic, leather, and denim. TK Tech News further notes that a carbon fiber option could launch later this year as an exclusive to Verizon Wireless in the U.S.

Keep in mind, however, that it's all in the rumor state at this point, so treat this leak accordingly. With Motorola's big event just a couple of days away, we'll soon learn all there is to know about the Moto X+1 straight from the source. In the meantime, check out TK's video below to get a better idea of what to expect.
