HTC One E8 EYE spotted on import/export tracking website, may debut soon

HTC may be gearing up to launch a One E8 EYE soon, as this variant was just spotted on import/export tracking website Zauba.

An HTC One M8 EYE smartphone has just recently made its debut, touting the company's latest EYE Experience. HTC took a dip into digital imaging with its EYE software suite, aiming to improve the photography experience on its handsets through innovative enhancements for capturing high-quality photos and videos.

Some of the highlights of the HTC EYE Experience consist of Face Tracking, Crop-Me-In, Split Capture, and Face Fusion, among others. The HTC EYE Experience with Android 4.4.4 comes pre-loaded on the new HTC One M8 EYE and HTC Desire EYE.

The company has also started rolling out its much-touted EYE Experience update, along with Android 4.4.4 KitKat (3.28.401.6) to its original One M8, and other HTC handsets should get the software suite as well in the future.

The HTC One E8, meanwhile, launched back in June as the plastic variant of the flagship One M8, boasting slightly different specifications without compromising much except for the build material.

It now looks like an HTC One E8 EYE may also be en route, according to this listing on import/export tracking site Zauba, as spotted by GadgetzArena. The listing in question (see image above) reveals that the HTC One E8 EYE was imported from Taiwan to India.

While Zauba doesn't reveal anything regarding the smartphone's specifications, it does note that it will come in at least two color options - Silver and Gray. The imported units are listed with a price tag of $Rs. 27,275 (almost $450). This version of the smartphone is expected to have similar specifications to the original One E8, with some changes in the camera department.

As a reminder, the original HTC One E8 EYE sports a 5-inch Full HD display with a  resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor under the hood, and comes with Adreno 330 graphics, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage capacity, expandable via microSD. The original One E8 features a 13-megapixel rear camera like the One M8 EYE, but without the duo camera setup, as well as a 5-megapixel front shooter.

The HTC One E8 EYE may add a duo camera or a 13-megapixel front shooter, according to GadgetzArena, but nothing is officially confirmed at this point. As always in such cases, take this report with a grain of salt.
