PS Vue Users Can Now Bundle Showtime And Epix Hits

Sony's PlayStation Vue is getting a boost. With the arrival of Epix Hits and Showtime, the company is climbing as it tries to become the first a la carte pay TV service.

PlayStation users in the United States can now get Showtime and Epix Hits together if they have a subscription for PlayStation Plus. A special launch campaign gets the fee down to $11.49 for regulars and $9.99 with PlayStation Plus.

PlayStation Vue essentially refers to two amenities that Sony proposes through its gaming consoles. Users all over the United States can subscribe to a number of a la carte stations, along with the aforementioned Showtime and Epix Hits bundle. Sony also offers a variant of PS Vue that look like an old-style cable TV package, with prices starting at $50 per month. Subscribers to these greater packages can get Epix Hits from $2.99 up to $3.99 per month. The package is included at no extra charge with Sony's Elite bundle.

In addition to Showtime and Epix Hits, Sony is introducing the Machinima channel, which was publicized in June. It is fundamentally a premium variety of Machinima's current YouTube content, which concentrates on fandom and gaming art, music, and literature. Sony is bundling the channel as a standalone package with PlayStation Plus, and it is included with the Elite PlayStation Vue packages.

Sony also conveyed good news for the PS Vue's multi-channel bundle subscribers. Seemingly, Sony has combined with Pac12 Network and ESPN, so it is likely those channels will be coming in soon. Though, it is still not clear how this will impact present price bundles.

Sony still has a handful of mountains to climb as it strives on becoming a major streaming video player. Its assertions of being the first a la carte pay TV provision were exaggerated with very few channels to offer, and the corporation must make transactions with local broadcast associates if the company wants to increase its larger packages to more markets. Still, Sony is at least making advancement, with more channels on both the a la carte and bundled sides.
