When it comes to sports, it is hard not to talk about the famous personalities and/or athletes involved. If basketball is to Michael Jordan, golf is to Tiger Woods. And yes, the same can be true for "League of Legends" in eSports. The highly celebrated game also has its own set of superstars for the world to know.
According to ESPN, the Summoner's Cup is the one thing that unites the "League of Legends" superstars. All in all, there are a total of five major regions to be involved. However, the upcoming Summer Split event is expected to feature a handful of notable players.
One is Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, but his success in "League of Legends" 2016 Summer Split will be determined on team play. Nonetheless, his individual play will also heavily impact the fate of his team in the upcoming event.
Another famous name to look out for is Darshan "Darshan" Upadhyaya from Counter Logic Gaming. It is worth noting that he, together with his team, has brought a huge wave when the "League of Legends" Championship era started. And true enough, much of the team's success was due to Darshan's exceptional side lane pressure techniques.
Jian "Uzi" Zhi-hao of Royal Never Give Up, on the other hand, acquired recognition during the "League of Legends" 2014 Season World Championship. Apart from this, it was during the 2015 World Championship when Uzi prevented the dominance of Samsung Galaxy White's Mata. After that, the rest was history.
In related news, fans of Team Liquid will surely be saddened knowing that Josh Hartnett (famously known as Dardoch) will not be part of the team's starting lineup for the upcoming "League of Legends" Summer Split. According to Yahoo! eSports, the decision rooted from Dardoch's behavioral issues as well as his failures to meet team dynamics.
Team Liquid's Steve Archancet and Yoonsup "Locodoco" Choi, co-owner and coach respectively, made the announcement. Both stated that despite the temporary removal of Dardoch, it was completely necessary for the team's success in the forthcoming tournament.
Dardoch has been considered as an indispensable player for Team Liquid. And without him, the team could likely plummet in the "League of Legends" Summer Split. As of this writing, the team has yet to announce the replacement.
