Massive 15 Hour PSN Downtime Announced For Today

Sony has announced a massive downtime for their network (PSN), and it has been scheduled for today (Thursday, May 24). So if you are looking to play “Max Payne 3” online, you will need to stay logged onto PSN.

In case you weren’t logged in to the network, then you’ll not be able to access the PlayStation Store on PS3, PSP and PS Vita. PlayStation Network Account management and PlayStation Network account registration will also be affected because of this downtime.

It is important for you to note that the network will be offline from 4.00pm BST (8:00pm PDT) on Thursday until 8.00am BST (11:00pm PDT) next day.

For those of you who have already pushed the panic button after you heard about the downtime, you can relax as the network has not been hacked or compromised, but it is just a routine maintenance check that is being carried out by Sony.

If you are looking to continue without any unwanted hassles, make sure that you are logged into the network at least before 4:00pm BST (8:00pm PDT).
