'Stellaris' New Patch 'Asimov' Features Explained, Brings Vast Improvements To Mid Game

"Stellaris" has been out for quite some time now. And yes, the game has received good reviews since its release. Now, developer Paradox Interactive is poised to unleash the so-called "Asimov" update. It will be made available at the end of this month and is said to bring some major changes.

According to PC Gamer, the new "Stellaris" update 1.2 (better known as "Asimov") is slated to arrive at the end of June. Although it has a number of features to introduce, its main priority is the title's mid-game ethics.

"Stellaris" is known for having tons of sci-fi elements, something that Paradox has been doing since its previous titles. However, it gradually shifts from the excitement it projects at the beginning to being a lousy, boring game. This is most especially in the midle part.

Well, thanks to "Stellaris" update "Asimov" -- such void will be addressed. The upcoming patch is expected to give players access to fight more space creatures, while borders will now be opened -- and by default already.

Moreover, the frustrating feature called "Embassies" will be completely removed. It is said to have given ongoing bonus and whatnots to a player's rep as well as his other existing empires. With the new "Stellaris" update, fans will have to maintain an active diplomacy in order to achieve relations -- from defensive contracts (or pacts) to trade deals.

Also mentioned in the forum site of Paradox Interactive, "Asimov" will make "Stellaris" battles much better than they were before. It should be noted that fans (heck, even the developers themselves) were not quite happy with how battles are done in the game.

For example: When a small bunch of ships are engaged, battles look okay. However, when larger ones are being deployed, not only do they look disorganized, but they look like a swarm of bees with no knowledge where the honey is.

With the upcoming "Stellaris" update, the range of all weapons in the game will be increased. That way, fleets, in particular, will be able to engage at longer ranges. Furthermore, the default combat computers have also been improved.
