Xiaomi Smartphones Leaked: Everything You Need To Know About The Altun And Capricorn

Xiaomi has been somewhat of a silent killer since it first entered the smartphone market years ago. In a continous uphill climb, Xiaomi is now one of the most recognizable handhelds worldwide.

As Phone Radar reports, Xiaomi's RedMi series just crossed the 110 million mark, making it their most successful line of handheld devices. No matter how slow, the company is definitely making its way up the market, getting a bigger and bigger market share every year.

And there's no sign that the company is slowing down. In fact, Xiaomi is rumored to release six other devices by the end of the year, currently codenamed MarkW, Mi Pro, Mi5S, Mi Note 2, Altun and Capricorn. The two latter units already have benchmark specs available via GeekBench.

Reportedly, the Altun will be powered by Xiaomi's own processor, which will arrive with an octa-core processor at 1.4GHz. It will run on the latest Android OS, the Android Marshmallow 6.0 and 2GB of RAM. In a trade-off for lower costs, however, the Xiaomi Altun is expected to sport a polycarbonate shell.

The Xiaomi Altun is expected to hit the market at 699 Yuan or $105. Compared to the upcoming Xiaomi Capricorn, the Altun is definitely the more entry level offering.

Android Headline adds that the Xiaomi Capricorn has also received its share of rumored specs. The device is expected to come out of the box with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow software. It will also be powered by a Qualcomm processor, most likely the Snapdragon 820. It will also run a little smoother than the Altun, as it is expected to have 3GB of RAM.

The Altun is likely to reach the market sooner than the Capricorn. Unfortunately, only benchmarks of both units are available at this point. What this means is that no other specs, particularly internal ones are yet to be announced. The public will need to wait a little longer to learn about the camera, battery and storage options.
