Apple Watch Getting ‘Cosmos Rings’ Game From ‘Final Fantasy’ Developer Square Enix

Apple Watch will soon have the "Cosmos Rings" game courtesy of "Final Fantasy" developer Square Enix. However, not much detail has been released by either the game developer or Apple.

Square Enix launched a website that announced the upcoming game. Information about the game is sketchy. "Cosmos Rings" is a role playing game (RPG). Once released, it can be purchase at the Apple App store or Watch App store.

Apple Watch is not known as gaming device. Aside from telling the time, users can use it for exercises, notifications and a controller for the house.

The site also contained a preview of what "Cosmos Rings" would look like at the screen of Apple Watch. The graphics are understandably crude considering the limited video capabilities of the smart watch. The small size of the Apple Watch can also make controls for any upcoming game difficult at best.

The image showed a counter which possibly indicates that "Cosmos Rings" is real-time. The other small icons in the image are interpreted as some kind of timer and a stat of some kind, either life or power. The game may also have some sort of currency stat. The image also showed numbers with a possible symbol of the Japanese yen right beside it. As of this time, these observations are still speculations.

The technical challenges however, did not discourage both Square Enix and Apple to develop a game for the smart watch, according to Mashable. Observers are curious as to what kind of RPG game, "Cosmos Rings" would look like.

There are ongoing speculations weather the upcoming smart watch game is a player versus player type, player versus artificial intelligence (AI) or even both. Some are also wondering if "Cosmos Rings" will be played in the same fashion as the Nintendo StreetPass. This particular wireless interaction enabled players to engage in the street even if their 3DS handheld consoles are closed.
