Microsoft Surface Pro 5 More Powerful Than 2016 MacBook Pro: Head-To-Head Comparison

Microsoft's Surface Pro-Line has been killing it in the market for all the right reasons. There is no wonder why the Surface Pro 5 is highly anticipated. However, there have been continuous talks as well about the upcoming 2016 MacBook Pro and where it could bring Apple's premium notebook line. And with both items hitting stores before the end of the year, it is sure to be a head-to-head fight.

According to MobiPicker, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been a long time coming. However, the company has been waiting for the availability of the 7th generation Intel Kaby Lake processor before starting on the actual manufacturing. This addition alone is sure to take the Surface Pro 5 to another level in terms of power. In addition, the device is expected to run on 16GB or RAM and will have until 1TB of internal storage available.

As for its design, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to sport a 13-inch screen. However, there will be two variants to choose from - a 2K and 4K display. The Country Caller adds that Microsoft will add an iris scanner to the unit, which should be very feasible with the Kaby Lake processor.

Meanwhile, the 2016 MacBook Pro will be powered by the 6th generation of Intel Skylake processors. This is likely to improve the battery life on the MacBook Pro and will make the notebook run faster as well.

Two variants will be available for the Apple product, one being a 13-inch screen and the other a 15-inch screen. Both options will have a Retina Display and a screen resolution of 2304 x 1440 pixels. It is rumored to be much lighter and thinner than the existing generation, and to have a new OLED touch display bar, that will replace the function keys.
