Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Officially Released: Specs And Design Rundown; Which Carriers Have The Best Deals For The Flagship Phone

After weeks of constant speculation, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been officially unveiled. Putting to rest some rumors and confirming most, it is definitely one of the best releases this 2016.

The unit was revealed to the public on August 2. For Sprint, AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, the unit will not be available for actual purchase until August 19, with pre-orders starting on August 3. Carriers have their own set of bundles. More specifically, T-Mobile and Sprint are offering a free Samsung Gear Fit 2 smartwatch, or a 256Gb memory card with every Note 7 purchase.

As C|Net notes, Samsung has taken all the best from the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge and infused them with the best of the Galaxy Note 5. As always, the differentiating factor between the S series and Note series is the power.

Like the S7 and S7 Edge, the Note 7 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and will smoothly run on 4GB or RAM. They also share the same 12 megapixel rear camera. The new flagship also adopted the IP68 water resistant feature, as well as the choice to expand storage via a microSD card. The screen of the new device is curved like the S7 Edge, but is sharper and less sloped.

And while the Note 5's S Pen was a great feature in itself, Samsung enhanced the same in the Galaxy Note 7. It is more accurate and has more tricks like GIF-creation and magnification, without the discomfort of getting jammed. According to The Verge, it also has a larger 3500mAh battery.

Of course, it also has its own unique features as well. For one thing, the Galaxy Note 7 has an additional iris scanner, which the Korean tech giant claims is more accurate than the finger scanner. Further, it has a Coral Blue option and has a minimum internal storage of 32GB.

For the UK, Vodafone, O2, GiffGaff, Three and EE will have the Note 7 in stock with no official pricing yet. Meanwhile, Mobifun has quotes a price of £749.
