Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, Specs & Design: Tech Company Hints At 2 Variants For Its Hybrid Line

With the great success of the Microsoft Surface line, there is no question why tech enthusiasts are excited for the upcoming Surface Pro 5. While there are other like gadgets available on the market, no other company has arguably come close.

According to Mobile & Apps, it is likely that the Surface Pro 5 will come by this October, as the Surface Pro 4 arrived to the market October of last year. However, because rumors suggest that it might come with Windows 10 and the Redstone 2, the release date may be moved back to the fall of 2017.

However, the wait may be completely worth it, as the Surface Pro 5 is speculated to pack some great equipment. This includes the newest generation of Intel's Kaby Lake processor, which will utilize the battery life of the hybrid device more efficiently. Also, the unit is expected to run on 16GB or RAM, making the experience as smooth as possible for the user.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also expected to come with either a NVIDIA graphics card or the Polaris GPU from AMD. Either way, there will be two graphic variants - 2K display and 4K display.

PC Advisor adds that Microsoft will be improving the Surface Pen, which has become a staple in all the Surface Pro hybrids. For the upcoming Surface Pro 5, the Surface Pen will be rechargeable whilst magnetically attached to the tablet. This will make the stylus experience easier, as the current setup requires AAAA batteries.

The Surface Pro 5 is also expected to be the first in its series to come with a USB Type-C port, which would make handling the device much easier and more efficient. In addition, updates in the camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections are also expected.

Taking pricing from the reigning Microsoft Hybrid, the Surface Pro 5 is expected to be priced around £749, which is more or less $1000.
