BlackBerry Releases App Software The Hub+ In Google Store

Some years ago, most individuals carried around BlackBerry handsets. Things have changed since then as the sighting of a smartphone with the company's recognizable logo are far and few between. But the company is digging into its strengths and giving other Android devices the chance to work with the BlackBerry Hub+.

The BlackBerry Hub+ was once exclusive to the BlackBerry Priv and DTEK50, according to BNN. However, any Android user running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow can get the same through the Google Play Store.

As a whole, the Hub+ is a group of applications that theoretically makes the smartphone experience easier for users. That is, it includes a unified inbox, password keeper, calendar and other features. It also gathers emails, social media and other productivity apps.

Currently, it is available or a 30-day free trial. However, users will need to pay $0.99/month after that to avail of the virtual service.

Green Bot notes that the BlackBerry Hub+ is easy to come by. Searching for "BlackBerry Hub" at the Play Store is the first step to getting the free trial. After, users will need to agree to several questions, which will allow the app to gather the necessary information from several other applications. The result is one single place where users can see the collection of notifications, as well as launch emails, social media posts and text messages.

At this point, it is unclear whether Android users will be willing to pay for the service, no matter how relatively cheap it is. However, BlackBerry needs this to be successful, as the company falls further and further behind in the mobile race. After all, the recently released BlackBerry Priv has not been a huge success, the case was likewise for the more budget-friendly DTEK50.
